2. Who do I contact to receive services?
You may call or write to your local Regional Center service coordinator to determine the possibility of regional center services for a person who has been diagnosed and or is suspected of having a developmental disability. Parents, guardians, conservators, or persons over the age of 18 may apply for a regional center diagnostic assessment to determine eligibility for services. At the age of three, your child becomes eligible for special education services from your local school district. Each public school child who receives special education and related services must have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The IEP creates an opportunity for teachers, parents, school administrators, related services personnel, and students (when appropriate) to work together to improve educational results for children with disabilities. CARE also accepts private pay clients for services and assessments.

3. How long is the process before we receive behavioral services?
After receiving a referral from your local Regional Center you may: a. Receive a functional analysis assessment ranging from 1 to 3 months. This typically includes an interview with the family and observations and interactions with the child to assess for current levels of functioning. b. Need to wait for the approval for funding by the Regional Center. c. Once the approval for funding is received, CARE will contact the family to schedule the first in-home appointment. The length of time may vary depending on the funding source.

4. How old does my child have to be to receive services?
We provide services for children and adults between the ages of 0 to adults.
